Razza Near Liberty Towers: This Artisanal Neighborhood Pizzeria Has a Lofty GoalBY Editor, April 19, 2015
Razza is an artisanal pizzeria in Jersey City that hopes to “elevate the overall quality of pizza in America,” according to the Razza website. Here, pizzas meld art and science; dough is made in-house, leavened with a wild yeast culture for a unique flavor, while wood-fired brick ovens impart a slight char to the pizzas’ crusts.
You’ll find traditional toppings, of course, and the margherita pie is one of Razza’s best sellers. You’ll also find creative and innovative toppings, like bacon with shaved onion and a drizzle of maple syrup, or mushrooms with parmigiano-reggiano and a hint of truffle oil. Razza takes just as much care with its drink menu, too, and all its beers and wines are specially selected to pair well with the pizzas, even if that means that they’re obscure brands or varieties you may not have tried before.
Razza is open Mondays through Saturdays. Take-out is available if you’d rather enjoy your pie on your couch at Liberty Towers.
