New Spanish Flair in Jersey CityBY Editor, July 17, 2015
Named after an artsy neighborhood in Spain with vibrant nightlife and dining, much like Jersey City, Raval is the newest addition to the Jersey City dining scene. Inspired by El Raval neighborhod in Barcelona, this new local tapas spot is adorned in Spanish murals and an authentic menu to match. With an extensive drinks menu all with a Spanish flair, Raval’s got six different gins and several tonics, including two made in-house.
If it’s food you’re visiting for, Raval won’t disappoint here either. Giving their own take on Spanish traditional cuisine, they have dozens of choices of tapas plates and entrees. As tapas is all about sharing, our Liberty Towers staff suggests getting a bunch of small plates and splitting them amongst your table so that you can try all their delicious offerings.
A great fit for Jersey City, Raval is sure to soon become a local favorite for creative types and commuters because of their late-night kitchen. Open Thursday through Sunday from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m, it will soon become a favorite with midnight munchers. Raval’s bar is also open until 2 or 3 a.m. every night.
Raval is located at 136 Newark Ave., Jersey City. For more information, call 201-209-1099 or visit RavalJc.com.
