Citi Bike Coming to Jersey City this September

BY Editor, September 4, 2015

September is here which means cooler weather and the last chance to enjoy outdoor activities before the cold winter weather sets in. There’s no better timing then now for Citi Bike to arrive here in Jersey City! Whether you are a commuter and want some extra morning exercise, looking for a fun weekend activity or a family casual bike ride, Citi Bike makes it easier for Liberty Towers residents to enjoy the outdoors this fall.

Citi Bike stations in Jersey City will operate in partner with those in New York City, making drop off and pick up very easy and accessible for commuters. There will be 35 stations that will open around Jersey City with an estimated total of 350 bikes for residents to use. These bikes don’t have to be just for commuters into NYC though. With 22 new miles of bike lanes built in Jersey City recently, bikes can be rented to easily ride around and enjoy around the neighborhood. Prices for Citi Bikes vary and there is also the option to purchase an annual membership, which gives you unlimited use with some restrictions for $150. There are also options for weekly packages and individual packages if you are interested in a one-time use.

If you work for a company in NYC or Jersey City make sure you check if your company has a corporate membership with them. Several corporations have memberships where they have partnered with Citi Bike so employees can use their services for free or with a very generous discount. If you work for a company without one, Jersey City is allowing employers interested to sign up from now through October 1st .

If you want to learn more about the expansion into Jersey City and about how Citi Bike operates you can look at their website, which is specific to the Jersey City program.
