Fall Block Party near Liberty Towers

BY libertytowers, October 13, 2015

Fall will zip by before you know it, and we want to make sure our Liberty Towers residents take advantage of all the fun fall festivals going on in the Jersey City area before winter comes! One event that will be taking place is the annual Fall Block Party. On Saturday October 17th, one of the biggest block parties of the fall will be taking place just 20 minutes from Liberty Towers and Jersey City! Newark will host this fun outdoor fall extravaganza from 10am until 2 pm on Prince Street.

The Greater Newark Conservancy will be making this event possible for New Jersey local residents. They will have stands throughout the block with fresh produce from their gardens as well many activities planned and happening throughout the day. Gardening demos from their experts will be taking place all day, and they will also host apple-tasting activities. Cooking lessons will be another fun activity that all are welcome to participate in and of course, there will be plenty of fall favorites for everyone to chow down on.

There will also be a Pumpkin Recipe contest that will take place during the Block Party. For your chance to win all you have to do is register. The week before the Block Party you can pick up a free pumpkin at the conservatory where you can there register for the contest and submit the recipe including all ingredients and steps. Make your recipe anytime before the Fall Block Party starts and make sure to have it submitted by noon the latest. Prizes will then be awarded to the winners in different categories. You can look here for rules and details about this fun fall contest!

Local vendors will be set up all along Prince Street and other great activities such as face painting, arts and crafts, raffles and butter churning will take place throughout the day. It’s a fun event for families or for friends just looking for a fun way to spend an October day.
