Welcome Greene Hook to Paulus HookBY Editor, November 7, 2015
Another wonderful restaurant has recently opened in Paulus Hook, and Liberty Towers is excited to welcome this one into our neighborhood! Greene Hook is a local bar and restaurant that’s opened on Greene Street, not too far from us at Liberty Towers. Greene Hook restaurant is under the same ownership as Light Horse Tavern which is a very popular Jersey City restaurant at 199 Washington Street. Executive chef David Drake, also from Light Horse Tavern, helped open the new restaurant. If the food is anything like Light Horse Tavern, there’s no doubt that Greene Hook will be very successful.
People are already ranting and raving about their fried chicken and macaroni and cheese skillet. It looks mouthwatering and our staff here at Liberty Towers is planning a trip ASAP! Greene Hook is open for lunch as well and also serves brunch on the weekend.
With beautiful wooden floors and a large wrap around wooden bar with floor to ceiling windows, Green Hook has the perfect rustic atmosphere for chilly winter evenings. They offer a few TVs so you can catch local football there on Sundays. For the shuffleboard fans amongst us, Greene Hook also has a shuffleboard table inside for customers to use. They even have a league on Sunday nights from 8-11. Sign us up!
It looks like their official website isn’t launched yet but you can find Green Hook on Instagram and Facebook for more info. Be sure to try this new Jersey City nightspot, we have a feeling it’s going to become one of our favorites!
