Earth Day 5k Run in Jersey CityBY Editor, April 15, 2016
What better way to celebrate Earth Day than being outside and enjoying the fresh air? If you’re up for the Bozzuto #BeTheGreen challenge, Jersey City residents can appreciate Mother Earth while having some fun by participating in Jersey City’s Annual 5k run and Earth Day Fair.
On Saturday April 23rd at 10am the 5K run will start at Liberty State Park, which is just a short drive (or walk!) away from Liberty Towers. The route will take runners through the beautiful park and along the scenic Hudson River, giving runners a feel as some of the wonderful natural beauties of Earth. Register in advance for a price discount and guarantee your event shirt! If you don’t get the chance—don’t worry! Runners will have the opportunity to register the morning of the event, just make sure to arrive early to give plenty of time before the race. Following the event runners can have some more fun at the Earth Day fair.
With the goal of bringing awareness to the environment, there will be over 100 vendors and different exhibitions as well as other fun activities throughout the day. Environmentally focused activities include learning about different tree seedlings, booths about protecting Jersey City’s waterways and several other green and enviroment friendly displays. Several air inflatables will be stationed throughout the park and other fun activities including kite flying, different arts and crafts stands and many fun contests. There will also be live and stationed music and over 40 food truck vendors.
