Jersey City residents for the third year in a row can join in on the fun and celebrate Independence Day at the Freedom and Fireworks festival. This event will be held on July 4th Starting at 1 pm. Liberty State Park the festival’s location is just minutes from Liberty Towers, so in between any fun plans you may already have take a moment to stop by!
Plenty of food from local restaurants will be served throughout the day. Food stations from The Green Radish, Luke’s Lobster, Tony’s Italian sausage and more will be featured. You can find a full list of all the food vendors here. In addition to food, plenty of fun activities will be happening all day long. Your favorite carnival rides that turn and spin will be at the grounds for some summer fun, as well as plenty of kids activities. FOr kids as well there will be a special kids stage where groups have been selected to perform and try to match up to all the adult bands scheduled for the event. Live music will be a huge part of this event. Local artists will get the chance to show the community their best work by performing for residents. Some featured artists include The B-Street Band, Village People, Eliza Neals and many others. For a full line up, take a look here.
Don’t forget about the fireworks! As soon as the sun goes down the event will close with a magnificent fireworks display on the Hudson River with the Statue of Liberty as the backdrop.
