Where to Go Pumpkin Picking this October

BY libertytowers, October 10, 2016

Throughout the year, Liberty Towers residents get to experience the convenience that comes with living in a bustling place such as Jersey City. Near the best restaurants, bars and attractions, there’s always something to do.

However, during the fall season, we know that you want to take a trip to the countryside, wander through the pumpkin patches, see farm animals and see fall foliage. Luckily for Liberty Towers residents, the best places to go pumpkin picking are only a short, scenic drive away.

Conklin Farm, located at 65 River Rd. in Montville which is about 35 minutes away from your Liberty Towers apartment, is a smaller-sized farm that, besides having pumpkin picking, also has a corn maze, hayride, haunted hayride and snack shack which has hot cider, candy apples and warm homemade donuts. The farm is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. throughout the fall season.

Demarest Farms, located at 2 Wierimus Rd. in Hillsdale which is about 40 minutes from your Liberty Towers apartment, offers pumpkin picking for $5 per person which includes a hay ride, playground and visit with farm animals. Plus, the largest pumpkin that you pick will cost up to $9. The farm is open Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. as well as Saturdays and Sundays from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Williams Nursery, located at 524 Springfield Ave. in Westfield which is about 25 minutes from your Liberty Towers apartment, is a family farm with a small homemade pumpkin patch ideal for your little ones. At the farm are also wagons to pull, a maze, hayride, pony rides, apple cider and weekend fall events.
