Find local artisan items for the holidays at the Artist and Maker MarketBY Editor, November 9, 2016
These days, the internet makes it easy to get just about any holiday gift you can imagine. No longer are we at the mercy of our local malls – instead, with just the click of a mouse, we can find the most unique holiday gifts for the music lover, home chef or fashionista in our life.
However, there is one kind of gift that the internet can’t always offer – those made from our very own local artists. With the Artist and Maker Market this month and next at the Grove Street PATH Plaza which is only about a mile and a half from your Liberty Towers apartment, you can meet local artists and artisans and find goods that only they can offer.
The Artist and Maker Market was founded last year to accommodate the increased consumer demand for locally sourced goods and a high volume venue for artists to sell them. The fall/winter market starts Nov. 17 and runs every Monday and Thursday in conjunction with the farmers’ market excluding holidays from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
If you want to see what your local artists and artisans have to offer, then stop by the market on Nov. 17, 21, 28 and Dec. 1, 5, 8, 12, 15, 19 and 22. Some of the types of items that you can expect to find there are art and photography, bath and body items, clothing, homemade home, décor and housewares and jewelry and accessories.
If you are a vendor yourself, then feel free to apply for a space by emailing Debbie Mangual at firstname.lastname@example.org.
