Earth-Friendly Eats Around Jersey City
BY libertytowers, April 18, 2017
Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the annual Jersey City Earth Day Festival on April 22nd. The festival serves to educate, empower and inspire Jersey City to take action in adopting sustainable living practices, protect our natural resources and buy and consume locally produced goods. You’ll find New Jersey vendors, locally produced goods, workshops, activities, community organizations, an upcycled artists’ market and fun live music at the event.
Some of our favorite vendors will be attending the event such as:
The Green Radish – A food truck that serves delicious plant based food. They use fresh ingredients and are known for their black bean burger, fries and shakes. Some of their favorite black bean burgers include the BBQ burger and their “old School Burger” which is a black bean patty served with lettuce, pickles, spiced tomato ketchup on a Balthazar bun.
Stella’s Empanadas – We love Stella’s and you can find them at most farmer’s markets and events throughout Jersey City. They serve a wide variety of non-vegetarian and vegetarian empanadas such as Philly cheesesteak, chicken and cheddar, spinach, mushroom and onions and macaroni and cheese.
Bread and Spoon – Two awesome chefs started this company to bring the community delicious, seasonal meals made from fresh produce they obtain from local, sustainable farms all within 100 miles of Jersey City and New York City.
Lakeside Maple – If you love trail mix then make sure to check out this booth! Their mix is baked with pure Vermont maple syrup and are gluten free, vegan and never made with any artificial ingredients or GMO’s.
We also recommend taking advantage of the meditation and breathing workshop with Jivamuki Yoga Center at 4pm.
