Enjoying Oktoberfest Season in Jersey City

BY libertytowers, September 29, 2017

Jersey City is known for their abundance of restaurants and bar but since it’s officially fall we’ve listed the best places to visit for some delicious cider, hot toddys and authentic German food.  After all, Oktoberfest is here!

Zeppelin Hall Biergarten – A busy European-style venue with self-serve German and American food plus over 100 beers available.  They are known for their outdoor space as well as their oversized indoor space which is filled with wooden picnic tables and three bars which is perfect for large groups.  After 9pm on the weekends Zeppelin Hall brings in their DJ to get the party started!

Hudson Hall – This is the newest biergarten in Jersey City.  Hudson Hall is a Beer Hall and Smoke House, with a menu focused on the Eastern European (and American) flavors derived from the age-old skills of smoking, pickling and fermenting, which is then used on their meats, fish, cheeses and vegetables.  We heard their pastrami sandwich is out of this world! They also offer a select list of draught and bottled beers, Old and New World wines, and cocktails.

Wurstbar – This bar is a smaller version of Hudson Hall and their menu focuses on sausages, signature hotdogs and poutine. On Sunday’s you can enjoy their Game Day sausage (chicken sausage, buffalo blue cheese sauce, celery ribbons, fried chicken skins) or keep it simple with their Haus Wurst (choice of sausage: bratwurst or kielbasa, kraut, mustard, pickled onions and relish).  They also have sweet and dry ciders on draft.
