Terminal of Terror in Jersey CityBY Editor, October 25, 2017
Are you planning on staying in Jersey City this year for Halloween? ChicpeaJC, a Jersey City blogger, will be hosting the second annual Terminal of Terror Halloween party in Liberty State Park. This year, they’ll be more attractions, bars, and facilities. They are also adding an extra night for all you Halloween lovers! On Friday, October 27th and Saturday, October 28th they’ll have the 21+ Terminal of Terror events from 9 PM to 2 AM. There’ll be food trucks, a costume contest, drinks and beautiful views of the New York City skyline. No tickets will be sold at the door, so be sure to buy them online now!
The current terminal building was constructed in 1889 but was abandoned in 1967. It was later added to the New Jersey Register of Historic Places and incorporated into Liberty State Park. Over the years, there have been reports of ghost trains, ladies who walk through walls, disembodied footsteps and phantom coworkers. The most well-known ghost at the terminal is “The Lady in White” who appears at night time and vanishes through walls. There is also the “ghost train” which dates back to 1959 when a 123-ton diesel train took off for 22 miles with no one on board. No one knows why it happened, and it remains a mystery today. There are rumors that at midnight you can see the ghost train leaving the terminal. This event is only for the brave at heart!
Bozzuto Realty Group would like to wish everyone a happy and safe Halloween!
