Get Outside in Jersey City for Earth Day on April 22BY Editor, April 19, 2019
After a long winter, it’s finally time to enjoy warmer weather here in Jersey City! Even though we live in a bustling downtown, we’re lucky to also have lots of green space in the area that’s perfect for biking, running, hiking and celebrating Earth Day on April 22.
This Earth Day, head out to our local parks and bask in the sunshine, see the beautiful trees and foliage and celebrate all we have to enjoy here in the Garden State – all just within a few minutes from your Liberty Towers apartment.
Liberty State Park, located at 200 Morris Pesin Dr, Jersey City which is eight minutes from your Liberty Towers apartment, is known for its Waterfront views of Manhattan, Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island plus miles of tree-lined walkways.
The historic Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal sits prominently at the north end of the park. A two-mile promenade, the Liberty Walk, links the picnic area and the Interpretive Center while presenting visitors with a sweeping view of the Hudson River. An outdoor performance area and other improvements mark the northern section of the park, while the western portion is dominated by the state-of-the-art Liberty Science Center.
Lincoln Park, located at 1 Lincoln Park Drive, Jersey City NJ 07304 which is 14 minutes from your Liberty Towers apartment, is the largest park in Hudson County which offers athletic facilities, a statuary, trails and wildlife habitats.
With about 275 acres, the park contains two portions, Liberty Park East and Liberty Park West. It also contains the Lincoln Park Nature Walk, which is part of a wetlands restoration project adjacent to the Hackensack River, and the Hackensack RiverWalk, which is a partially completed greenway along the banks of the river running the length of the Hudson County shoreline.
