Experience the Planetarium at Liberty Science CenterBY Editor, August 12, 2019
Part museum, part zoo, part movie theater, there’s really nothing you can’t learn at the Liberty Science Center. But the sprawling 300,000-square-foot facility’s real claim to fame is its massive planetarium. It’s the biggest planetarium in the Western Hemisphere, and it almost looks like a giant golfball protruding from the edge of the building.
It screens more than just images of the night sky. The planetarium shows films that explore every aspect of the universe, like the current movie Black Holes. It explores these enigmatic fixtures in space and even gets you close to journeying directly into one. After you go on an adventure into space, check out exhibits like The Lion Guard, inspired by the newly released version of The Lion King, or head to the aquarium to meet some sea creatures at the Liberty Science Center.
